Assessment Methods
A holistic and objective approach
The Blakenship WorkEval
First in South Africa, Proven and Scientific
It is the latest and most comprehensive Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) on offer. Keith Blankenship developed the first FCE in 1983, which became one of the leading FCE systems around the world. Following years of development, Keith introduced the Blankenship WorkEval in 2014.
It is a forensic evaluation process. The WorkEval is a scientific search for the truth about the client's medical impairment, functional deficits, safe ability to work and willingness to cooperate with the evaluation process. Findings are based on sound medical principles and are admissible in various legal proceedings.
It is an evidence based evaluation process. The WorkEval applies the best available evidence gained from scientific method to clinical reasoning.
Adding Value
We have added a three page annexure to our reports to provide information supportive to the Narrative Test Guidelines.
In a Special Resolution of the HPCSA tribunal (January 2015) the following was documented
"The tribunal commends the annexure to the report of Elzeth Jacobs Occupational Therapists. The annexure provides a convenient and easily digestible graphic summary of the OT assessment findings, adhering to the HPCSA guidelines for the Narrative Test. The work of the tribunal members and others will be greatly facilitated if Occupational Therapists routinely provided summary reports of this nature."
